About the Role

The Raw Material Planner ensures a consistent supply of raw materials into Valvoline Australia’s manufacturing plant by managing stock levels, providing forecasts, and building strong supplier relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end planning of raw materials across a designated portfolio of suppliers and material categories.
  • Collaborate with the Production Scheduler to address schedule changes and anticipated delays, ensuring material availability while maintaining optimal inventory levels.
  • Partner closely with Procurement teams to align supply plans, manage supplier performance, and mitigate supply risks.
  • Assist Procurement in obtaining corrective actions for supplier performance issues and arrange supplier performance reviews.
  • Monitor inventory levels and material supply risks, implementing actions to prevent stock shortages or excess inventory.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Logistics, and Planning teams to support efficient supply chain outcomes.
  • Analyze systems reports and provide regular forecasted requirements to suppliers.
  • Conduct analyses on material demand and supply trends to identify risks, opportunities, and improvement initiatives.
  • Consolidate information and provide input to the monthly Supply Review Cycle (SOP).
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of best-practice material planning processes, routines, and governance.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline.

Requirements

  • Relevant University or TAFE education, preferably in Supply Chain Management or Business Management.
  • Relevant industry certifications - APICS CSCP/CPIM.
  • 3-5 years of Supply & Demand Planning experience.
  • Prior Supply Chain experience in either Demand, Supply, Purchasing or as a Supply Chain Analyst.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in Australia and live in the geographical location of the position.
  • Successful candidates must complete a pre-employment assessment and undergo background/criminal history checks.

Skills

  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, lookups, Planning Models, etc.).
  • Experience in forecasting and replenishment processes and systems (SAP, APO, Visual Reports).
  • Intermediate – Advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to understand and write formulas to support the role.
  • Self-motivated with an ability to work well autonomously.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders and excellent business partnering skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve business outcomes.
  • Able to actively engage, negotiate and influence others to drive the best outcomes.
