About the Role

Longshot Systems is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the team responsible for developing and owning our advanced sports betting analytics and trading platform. This role is ideal for an individual who can architect and implement solutions to meet product, performance, and stability goals. The team manages technical standards, coding guidelines, CI/CD, observability, and security, contributing to the platform's technical excellence.

Responsibilities

Architect and implement solutions to meet product, performance, and stability goals.
Own technical standards, coding guidelines, CI/CD, observability, and security for the trading platform.
Integrate additional trading venues.
Optimize key platform components.
Enhance trading safety and speed.
Maintain a significant historical data repository.
Support wider trading and research efforts.

Requirements

Deep experience building mission-critical distributed systems (finance, gaming, telco, ad-tech, etc.) where throughput, correctness, and availability are hard requirements.
Startup experience with a proven track record of shipping products in small, fast-moving teams.
Proven track record of delivering and maintaining production systems in at least one systems language (Go, C++, Rust, Java, C#) with clear, idiomatic designs.
Ability to reason about trade-offs and produce clean, evolvable service boundaries.
Comfortable working in AWS, Linux, and managing build pipelines.
Fluent written and spoken English for effective team collaboration.
