About the Role
This 12-month maximum term role focuses on building and delivering insights through visualization and querying tools to enhance decision-making and promote self-service and data literacy.
Responsibilities
- Building and providing insights across business areas.
- Developing subject matter expertise in the assigned business area.
- Engaging with business users to consult and recommend the best approach to answer their data questions.
- Providing rapid answers to business questions using queries and visualizations.
- Supporting ad hoc data requests from across business areas.
- Integrating digital data (e.g., website traffic, page views) with the warehouse to develop actionable insights.
- Building customer segmentation analytics and campaign performance reporting.
- Setting up monitoring and alerting mechanisms to identify data issues and exceptions.
- Identifying new ways to provide insights, promote data literacy, and enable power users.
- Designing and building reporting data models that support user self-serve reporting.
- Providing specialist knowledge of data elements to drive user adoption, self-service, and data literacy.
- Extracting and profiling data to understand structure, completeness, and quality.
- Validating data accuracy and understanding through technical and business reconciliation.
- Analyzing, modeling, interpreting, and enhancing sophisticated datasets.
- Applying independent judgment in creating new data solutions for business questions.
- Managing multiple business-as-usual and ad-hoc activities to deliver high-quality outputs on time.
Requirements
- Degree-level qualification in a quantitative or numerate discipline (e.g., computer science, Information Technology, math, stats, economics).
- Self-motivated individual with proven analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to overlay commercial acumen.
- Excellent communication skills and experience working with business stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- At least 5+ years of experience in BI, business analytics, or data science.
- Experience in Tableau is a must.
- Excellent knowledge of SQL, Data Warehouse principles, ETL processes, and Visualization best practices.
- Experience working with large and complex data sets from diverse sources, structures, and formats.
- Experience working on CDP platforms (e.g., Adobe Experience, Salesforce CDP).
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
- Strong problem-solving, quantitative, and analytical abilities.
- Ability to manage own workload and prioritize appropriately.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
- Proven experience supporting existing reporting and analytics products while developing new ones.
- Experience in Snowflake, SSIS, and Data Vault methodology (Desirable).
- Experience using web analytics tools (e.g., Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics) (Desirable).
- Experience in Insurance and Retail domain (Desirable).
- Experience with TOGAF methodology (Desirable).
- Experience with Talend studios, SAS (Desirable).
