About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic Senior Accountant to join our team. This role involves preparing and posting journals, overseeing fixed assets, performing reconciliations, assisting with financial reporting, managing tax requirements, and maintaining the lease accounting model.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post monthly and other journals within the Sun System, in line with relevant accounting standards.
• Oversee fixed assets tasks, including additions, disposals, depreciation, and reconciliations.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and ensure items are cleared.
• Assist the Finance Manager in financial month-end reporting and delivery of financial, accounting, and analytical reports and projects.
• Liaise with Consumer Finance, Revenue and Distribution, and banking partners for daily transactions.
• Manage all tax requirements across NZ, Fiji and Australia.
• Maintain the Lease Accounting Model, post monthly journals in accordance with AASB 16, update lease registers, and perform monthly reconciliations.
• Co-ordinate the preparation of the Annual and half yearly reports and filing with ASIC.
• Ensure intercompany accounts are reconciled monthly and appropriate controls are in place.
• Perform ad hoc Finance team related tasks as the business needs arise.
• Identify areas of weakness in controls and recommend/take action.
• Administer the audit cycle and manage the relationship with external auditors.
• Maintain a strong and robust financial control environment.

• Ensure staff are adequately trained.
• Responsible for the preparation of the annual budgets for the Club and Resort Operations.

Requirements

• Degree and qualification in Accounting
• CA / CPA qualified
• Minimum 5 years of experience with majority of it in supervisory role
• System experience – Sun System and Infor Q&A, Peoplesoft, Oracle Fusion (advantageous)
• Strong IFRS/technical accounting and reporting skills
• Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop a team to success in a cluster environment
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Exposure to a multi-currency environment
• Good communication skills with ability to build relationships across the business at all levels
• Ability to provide outstanding customer service
• Ability to meet tight reporting deadlines without compromising quality
