About the Role

Seven West Media is seeking a driven Editor to join their News team in Sydney. This role involves liaising with Producers and Reporters to achieve polished news content, reporting to the Media Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Edit high-quality news content with speed and accuracy, consistently meeting tight broadcast and publication deadlines.
  • Collaborate closely with Producers and Reporters to deliver compelling stories that align with editorial and creative objectives.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced newsroom environment, managing multiple priorities and delivering under pressure with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain exceptional attention to detail and quality control across all edited content to ensure broadcast-ready standards.
  • Contribute to a positive, safe and inclusive workplace culture, demonstrating professionalism, teamwork and respect while supporting a rotating shift roster, including weekends.

Requirements

  • Proven experience editing news, current affairs or fast-turnaround broadcast content in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong proficiency in professional video editing software, with the ability to produce high-quality content quickly and accurately.
  • Excellent editorial judgement and attention to detail, ensuring content meets broadcast standards and editorial guidelines.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritise workloads effectively, and perform under pressure in a fast-paced newsroom.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working closely with Producers, Reporters and broader production teams to deliver engaging news stories.
