About the Role
Andromeda Robotics is seeking a highly analytical and execution-driven Finance Manager to lead day-to-day financial operations and build foundational forecasting models for their humanoid companion robotics business. This role involves translating financial data into actionable insights, driving the budgeting process, modernizing the financial tech stack, automating operations, and analyzing financial performance. The manager will also serve as an internal contact for external accounting vendors in the US and Australia, leveraging AI and automation tools while also being hands-on with spreadsheets. This position reports directly to the COO/CFO.
Responsibilities
- Own and continuously update the corporate financial model for revenue, headcount, cash burn, and runway.
- Lead annual and departmental budgeting processes, partnering with team leads to set, track, and adjust spending targets.
- Build scenario tools to stress-test business decisions, pricing changes, unit economics, and new market expansions.
- Model inventory and supply chain cash flows, tracking factory lead times, component costs, and MOQs.
- Analyze hardware unit economics, maintaining accurate tracking of BOM, manufacturing variances, and gross margins.
- Perform monthly variance analysis, dissecting discrepancies between actual financial results and budget targets.
- Deliver monthly management reports highlighting key financial trends, efficiency metrics, and risk areas.
- Conduct monthly funds flow and cash bridge analysis to explain variances between net income and bank balances.
- Translate complex data sets into simple, clear financial dashboards to track business health.
- Streamline core finance operations, including invoice approvals, expense management, and vendor payments.
- Lead the evaluation, migration, and upgrade of the finance tech stack.
- Implement AI-driven workflows to automate routine financial operations.
- Build automated data pipelines to sync hardware fulfillment data with software subscription metrics.
- Coordinate with external local accountants in the US and Australia to ensure smooth monthly closings.
Requirements
- 4 to 6+ years in FP&A or corporate finance.
- Direct experience in a hardware, manufacturing, IoT, or physical product company with a subscription layer.
- Exceptional financial modeling skills, including experience modeling inventory cycles, working capital, and blended hardware/software margins.
- Ability to use Google Sheets.
- Deep understanding of working capital mechanics, cash-versus-accrual adjustments, and modeling cash flows.
- Strong grasp of post-close analysis, variance tracking, and identifying operational inefficiencies through accounting data.
- Practical experience researching, setting up, and optimizing internal tools for tracking expenses, vendor billing, and corporate spend.
- Hands-on experience using modern AI tools or LLMs for data analysis, code/formula generation, or text extraction.
- Experience with modern AI-forward financial platforms to speed up workflows.
- Basic familiarity with managing multi-currency books or coordinating with external accounting partners.
