About the Role

As a Product Owner Data & AI (m/f/d), you will combine product ownership with expertise in Machine Learning, Data Science, and Generative AI. You will identify and prioritize high-value use cases, develop innovative solutions with measurable business impact, and oversee the entire lifecycle of modern data and AI products. This role acts as a key link between business, analytics, and technology, shaping the future of data-driven products at fluege.de. This is a temporary parental leave cover position for approximately 15 months.

Responsibilities

Own the roadmap for Data, Analytics, and AI products, prioritizing initiatives based on business value and strategic relevance.
Identify data-driven opportunities with business stakeholders and translate business requirements into AI and Machine Learning solutions.
Analyze complex datasets, develop predictive models, and derive actionable recommendations.
Design, build, and evaluate Machine Learning models and modern AI solutions using LLMs, RAG, and agent-based workflows.
Manage the full product lifecycle, from problem definition and development to validation and production deployment.
Ensure the operation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of AI systems in modern cloud environments.
Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Analytics, and other stakeholders, communicating progress, risks, and results transparently.

Requirements

Several years of professional experience in Machine Learning, Data Science, AI Engineering, or Advanced Analytics.
Experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or in a similar role with responsibility for products, projects, or complex initiatives.
Strong knowledge of Python, SQL, and modern Data Science and Machine Learning frameworks.
Hands-on experience with Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Prompt Engineering, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
Experience working with cloud platforms, ideally AWS, and operating AI and ML solutions in production environments.
Knowledge of MLOps, CI/CD, monitoring, and the continuous improvement of production systems.
Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to connect technical and business requirements.
Excellent written and spoken German and English language skills.
