About the Role

This role is responsible for producing a high-quality work product on a portfolio of low to medium value claims through immediate contact and the effective investigation, reserving and adjustment of claims incurred by insureds or third parties.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of liability and financial lines claims in accordance with Chubb Best Practice Guidelines.
  • Analyze first report to determine nature of loss, coverage provided and scope of injury/damage.
  • Conduct investigations of all aspects of reported claims including potential fraud.
  • Secure and/or file all supporting documentation and verify same for accuracy, relationship and completeness.
  • Establish accurate and timely reserves.
  • Provide exceptional service standards in line with Chubb Best Practice Guidelines.
  • Maintain an active diary and monitor same to achieve timely development of the file and timely disposition of the claim.
  • Promptly and properly document all developments on claim file.
  • Exercise good judgment in reaching final disposition of claim by evaluating nature of loss, liability, injury/damage, coverage provided and applicable limits.
  • Effectively negotiate compromise settlements where appropriate.
  • Effectively communicate with claim department, customer services, loss control, underwriting departments, finance departments, brokers, insureds, service providers, third parties and/or their legal representatives.
  • Recognize and pursue subrogation where applicable.
  • Adhere to Insurance Contracts Act, the Insurance Code of Practice and all other relevant statutory rules and regulations.
  • Adhere to Chubb’s legal, Regulatory and Internal compliance obligations.
  • Effectively control the use, work product and expense of outside vendors.
  • Perform any other duties as required by the Claims Manager.

Requirements

  • Experience managing a portfolio of liability and financial lines claims.
  • Ability to analyze first reports to determine loss nature, coverage, and scope of injury/damage.
  • Proficiency in conducting claim investigations, including potential fraud.
  • Skill in securing, filing, and verifying supporting documentation.
  • Capability to establish accurate and timely reserves.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional service standards.
  • Ability to maintain an active diary for timely file development and claim disposition.
  • Proficiency in documenting claim developments promptly and properly.
  • Strong judgment in claim disposition evaluation.
  • Effectiveness in negotiating compromise settlements.
  • Excellent communication skills with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to recognize and pursue subrogation.
  • Adherence to relevant insurance acts, codes of practice, and statutory regulations.
  • Adherence to Chubb’s legal, regulatory, and internal compliance obligations.
