About the Role
Excellent opportunity for an experienced defamation/privacy solicitor to join one of the country’s leading media law firms, focusing exclusively on media and communications law work.
Responsibilities
- Focus exclusively on media and communications law work (defamation, privacy, harassment).
- Work collaboratively with other members of the team.
- Have day-to-day conduct of a file and report to one of the department's three partners for strategic input.
- Take instructions from clients alone.
- Run own caseload.
- Progress matters with minimal supervision.
- Advise people from a wide range of professional backgrounds, as well as corporates.
- Produce high quality written work.
Requirements
- Extensive experience of media law.
- Extensive experience of civil litigation.
- Excellent knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules.
- Comfortable advising people from a wide range of professional backgrounds, as well as corporates.
- Commercially minded.
- Adept at working under pressure and as part of a team.
- Must share the firm's ethos of offering the highest level of service to clients.
- Must adhere to the highest professional standards.
- Excellent IT skills, including intermediate-level features of Microsoft Office.
- Prior use of case management systems.
- Practical understanding of the internet and social media.
