About the Role

Lead merchandise strategy, range architecture, category growth, and trading performance for a leading Australian home and lifestyle brand. This role involves leveraging customer insights, commercial acumen, and product expertise to drive profitable growth and develop a high-performing team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute category and merchandise strategies supporting long-term growth.
  • Lead seasonal reviews and translate insights into actionable plans.
  • Build compelling assortments, ranging, and quantification strategies across channels.
  • Drive trading performance through analysis, stock optimization, and promotional planning.
  • Partner with Design, Planning, Marketing, and Supply teams to implement product strategies.
  • Lead and develop a team, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Identify new opportunities by staying connected to customers, stores, and market trends.

Requirements

  • Strong buying or merchandising experience, ideally within homewares, lifestyle, or retail.
  • Proven ability to balance customer needs with commercial outcomes.
  • Experience developing product strategies, assortments, and category plans.
  • Exceptional analytical, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Leadership experience with a passion for coaching and developing others.
  • Collaborative mindset and a drive for continuous improvement.
