About the Role
Provide post-sales engineering review, leadership, and support for won projects in Australia and New Zealand. Offer guidance and expertise on critical infrastructure projects, including product and service application and installation, with support from vendors and internal teams to ensure smooth deployment of major projects. Provide technical leadership among peers and drive decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Attend documentation hand-over process from Pre-Sales to Post-Sales teams.
- Facilitate document package transfer from Post-Sales to Project Management.
- Interrogate documentation to ensure buildability and budget compliance.
- Review proposal aspects from Statement of Compliance through to Commissioning and Hand-over.
- Act as technical authority for engineering decisions and design philosophies.
- Engage with partners, contractors, and vendors to assure cost-effective and technically sound solutions.
- Work with Product Managers, Service Teams, and factories to ensure optimal solutions.
- Attend project meetings on scope of supply, technical qualifications, and testing procedures.
- Assist with project ownership through delivery, commissioning, and hand-over.
- Ensure thorough hand-over to Project Management upon arrival of units in country.
- Operate a documentation register for all project files and ensure latest revisions are uploaded.
- Check new revisions for impacts on Vertiv’s scope of supply and communicate impacts.
- Provide completed project documentation to the Project Management Team.
- Prepare detailed Scope of Supply to Procurement for contractor and vendor works.
- Ensure Scopes of Supply reduce overlap or gaps, minimizing risk.
- Liaise with Sales and Project Managers to capture site, scope, and testing departures.
- Provide variation documentation as required.
- Manage revisions and updates to site documentation post Purchase Order.
- Incorporate documentation changes into revised Statements of Compliance.
- Work with PSA team to develop and update as-built drawings.
- Lead identification of engineering lessons learned and drive improvements.
- Identify recurring technical, design, or delivery issues and drive corrective actions.
- Contribute to the development of engineering standards, templates, and design tools.
- Share technical insights and best practices across teams.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and engineering accountability.
- Comply with all Work, Health & Safety, Environment, and Quality obligations.
- Actively promote safety in the workplace.
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering
- 10+ years engineering experience
- Market knowledge of mission critical power infrastructure, including application, installation, commissioning, testing and communications connectivity
- Knowledge of tender processes and product application
- Good understanding and knowledge of mission critical Power systems and products
- Knowledge of the application of Australian and international standards framework and industry codes
- Market knowledge of Power products including application
- Tender processes and the application of products to fit their requirements.
- Excellent technical understanding and knowledge of emergency power management products and concepts.
- Excellent competency in reading technical drawings and design specifications.
- Proficient in technical writing.
