About the Role
As a Microsoft Circular Center Logistics Technician, you will be responsible for the destruction of data-bearing devices (DBD) according to established policies and procedures. You will also harvest and test parts from decommissioned devices, oversee third-party DBD destruction processes, conduct inventory cycle audits, and manage inbound/outbound deliveries and their documentation. This role is critical in supporting Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) by ensuring the integrity and efficiency of data center logistics and sustainability efforts.
Responsibilities
- Leverage process knowledge and best judgment to complete tasks with minimal direct supervision.
- Maintain a strong focus to understand the impact of your work when completing tickets and assigned Inventory and Asset Management (IAM) tasks.
- Maintain and steward up-to-date and accurate logical information within various inventory management systems (e.g., configuration management databases, asset management repositories).
- Ensure detailed physical inventory tracking and staging.
- Perform destruction of data bearing devices (DBD) following all Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Microsoft policies as necessary.
- Oversee 3rd party vendors in the DBD destruction process.
- Harvest parts and components from assets per operational procedures and instructions.
- Test parts and components per operational procedures and instructions.

Requirements
- High School Diploma, or TAFE AND 1+ year(s) industry work experience within warehouse/supply chain in an information technology (IT) environment, inventory management, retail, warehouse management, or a related field OR equivalent industry work experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
- Must pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
- Requires verification of Australian Citizenship to meet federal government security requirements.
- May require an enhanced background check conducted through the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency.
