About the Role
Lead a territory and high-performing team in Northern California with a focus on delivering sustainable profit and growth. Inspire, coach, and develop Senior Territory Management leaders to manage a diverse portfolio of insurance products, services, and agency programs, strengthening partnerships and driving measurable business results. Shape and execute regional strategies to improve agency performance, expand agency footprint, and accelerate profitable organic growth.
Responsibilities
- Achieve key financial targets including rate adequacy, written premium, profitability, new business, and retention.
- Manage the execution of the annual agency management process and overall territory strategy to drive profitable premium growth.
- Lead the Senior Territory Manager team to optimize agency footprint, including agency plant expansion, engagement/rehab, and terminations.
- Develop strategies and drive execution of key initiatives to ensure effective agency partnerships for attracting, developing, and retaining profitable business and managing agency performance.
- Identify and assess potential risks, including agency service levels, business quality, pricing, and market conditions, to develop resolutions ensuring agency satisfaction and financial results.
- Inspire, coach, and develop the team to ensure deep engagement and necessary skills and capabilities to achieve sub-region goals.
- Collaborate with the regional marketing team to deliver effective internal and external communications and marketing programs.
- Drive end-to-end management of small commercial flow while mining and pipeline management of custom-sized accounts, leveraging the full commercial lines product suite and working cross-SBU as applicable.
- Maintain an understanding of the competitive landscape and coordinate resources to meet marketing, pricing, and customer needs.
- Maintain local legislative awareness with a strong working knowledge of key and current judicial rulings, legal issues, and lobbying efforts.
- Leverage agency compensation programs, including Agency Profit Sharing, compensation communication, reporting, tracking, and best practices.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in business or related field or equivalent training required.
- Minimum 10 years of progressively more responsible related work experience in a field distribution environment.
- Proven success in building internal and external partnerships.
- Proven success in improving team and individual performance.
- Demonstrates strong business acumen and understanding of agency business.
- Solid track record of achieving results.
