About the Role
Join Active Tree Services as a Team Leader on a long-term City of Sydney contract, supporting the delivery of day-to-day tree maintenance works across the city in a hands-on, practical leadership role.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support the crew on site in a hands-on working leader role.
- Coordinate daily tree maintenance activities across the City of Sydney contract.
- Support pruning, tree maintenance, and tree removal works.
- Assist with planning, job preparation, site setup, and allocation of daily tasks.
- Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to required quality standards.
- Communicate clearly with crew members, supervisors, and operations leaders.
- Help manage equipment, vehicles, materials, and site requirements daily.
- Drive a strong focus on safety, productivity, teamwork, and customer outcomes.
Requirements
- Proven experience in arboriculture, tree maintenance, vegetation management, or a similar field-based role.
- Experience leading or mentoring others (formal or informal leadership).
- Strong understanding of site safety and quality standards.
- Ability to plan, prioritise, and coordinate daily works.
- Current driver’s licence (MR/HR highly regarded).
- White Card.
- Relevant arboriculture, chainsaw, EWP or plant operation tickets (highly regarded).
- Previous exposure to local council or streetscape projects (highly regarded).
- First Aid / CPR (highly regarded).
