About the Role
Lead and coordinate the volunteer services department, strategically develop the area, and serve as a central point of contact for internal and external stakeholders. Provide pedagogical support to participants, conduct site visits, and organize educational seminars. Manage funding, including applications, reporting, and financial controlling.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of two employees and manage daily operations.
- Strategically develop the volunteer services department and contribute own ideas.
- Serve as the central point of contact for internal interfaces and external partners.
- Provide professional and personal support to FSJ and BFD participants.
- Conduct regular site visits and be available in conflict situations.
- Conceptualize, organize, and lead accompanying educational seminars.
- Apply for and manage funding for FSJ and BFD, including timely proof of use and settlements.
- Monitor fund usage and ensure proper allocation.
- Be responsible for ongoing financial controlling: budgets, cost developments, income, and expenses.
- Prepare financial reports and analyses for internal management and external bodies.
Requirements
- Completed (technical) university degree in education, social work, communication studies, or a comparable qualification.
- Several years of professional experience working with adolescents and/or young adults.
- Initial or several years of experience in team leadership and personnel responsibility.
- Knowledge in the field of volunteer services – ideally from own experience or from a sponsoring organization.
- Experience in association work or the non-profit sector.
- Structured, self-reliant way of working with a sense for deadlines and details.
- Strong communication skills, empathy, and the ability to remain calm even in stressful situations.
