About the Role
Cook delicious smash burgers and savory sides that delight our guests while ensuring proper service from the front line through quality control and sanitation levels.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that all items served are cooked and presented in an efficient, consistent and quality manner.
- Prep ingredients for menu items.
- Monitor the line set up prior to all meal functions to ensure maximum efficiency during meal periods.
- Monitor the equipment maintenance and kitchen "clean as you go" policy to ensure strict adherence.
- Follow all food safety handling rules.
- Start food items that are prepared ahead of time, making sure not to prepare more than estimated needs.
- Check pars for shift use, determine necessary preparation, freezer pull and line set up.
- Note any out-of-stock items or possible shortages.
- Return all food items not used on the next shift to designated storage areas, being sure to cover/date all perishables.
- Perform all kitchen closing procedures from food storage to kitchen and appliance cleanliness to stewarding duties. Ensure that the kitchen is ready for the next shift.
- All other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.
Requirements
- Must be able to work Saturday-Tuesday (PM 3:00pm-10:00pm) and some AM shifts.
- High school education or equivalent.
- One to two full years of employment in a related position.
- Knowledge of cooking and the practices and procedures of a kitchen.
- CA Food Safety certification.
- Employer will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner with the local ordinance.
- Must have moderate hearing to hear equipment timers and communicate with other staff.
- Must have excellent vision to see that product is prepared appropriately.
- Must have moderate comprehension and literacy to read use records and all special requests.
- Regular bending to lift items and supplies.
- Periodic kneeling.
- Regularly moves all around kitchen.
- To complete a task, may be stationary for short periods of time.
- Periodic climbing required.
