About the Role

The Front Desk Receptionist is responsible for the front desk operations in the Dental Clinic. This position requires excellent communication, computer and customer service skills, and the ability to act professionally and to deal with highly confidential matters.

Responsibilities

  • Greets patients/visitors to the clinic, communicates any potential delays, and works to ensure patient satisfaction.
  • Schedules appointments, responds to general inquiries, and triages calls for the providers via phone.
  • Explains procedures/services to patients and clarifies insurance or service plan coverage.
  • Provides exemplary customer service, answers the telephone promptly and politely, and treats patients and coworkers with courtesy and discretion.
  • Interviews new patients to gather demographic information, registers individuals and families, logs patient information into the computer, and initiates the medical record.
  • Renews and updates established individual and family registration records by verifying accuracy.
  • Acts as a cashier, determining payment amounts, collecting payments, and maintaining collection documentation.
  • Checks insurance eligibility prior to appointments using the MNHC eligibility tool, makes necessary updates, and informs patients of any issues.
  • Attends required staff and departmental meetings.
  • Understands and explains the referral process to patients.
  • Assists back staff when needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of front-desk experience in a dental office.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Must provide documentation of current immunizations, including COVID-19 and TB test results valid within the last two (2) years, and MMR immunization before the start date.

Salary/Compensations

  • $26.18 to $28.13 per hour
