About the Role

As a Fraud Operations Associate, you will manage daily workflows related to transaction fraud, first-party fraud, and account takeovers. You will improve the business’s ability to scale and make risk-based and customer-focused decisions, acting as the company expert in fraud operations with the autonomy to drive down losses and improve internal efficiencies. You will also be critical in containing fraud losses and improving operational efficiencies by contributing to the evolution of our AI tools, ensuring Brex scales safely and sustainably.

Responsibilities

Own and work associate level queues assigned to the Fraud Operations team.
Develop and implement scalable operational processes for fraud management.
Make risk-based, subjective decisions on high-value/risk transactions & account offboardings.
Achieve company-level goals around financial fraud losses.
Respond to cross-functional partners on escalations related to fraud, balancing risk and customer service.
Participate in streamlining fraud operational workflows for transaction review and account investigations.
Take ownership of Fraud Incident handling, conduct root cause analysis, and close inefficiency gaps.
Own and ship projects on the Fraud Ops roadmap with full autonomy.
Use AI tools to elevate and enhance queues and projects.
Partner with Policy, Data Science, and Engineering to improve tooling and scale internal operations for fraud.

Requirements

Previous management or team leader experience.
Strong communication skills.
An upbeat attitude, ability to remain calm under pressure, and a desire to identify and fix issues.
Creative curiosity, collaborative ethic, hardworking enthusiasm, and driving personal vision.
Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a penchant for multi-tasking and self-starting.
Ability to collaborate with a team on projects and process improvements.
