About the Role

Shrub Oak International School (SOIS) is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff by maintaining high cleanliness standards. This role involves leading the housekeeping team, performing cleaning duties, and managing supplies and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Owning the tracking, ordering, and budget management of cleaning supplies.
• General oversight of the housekeeping team including coaching, training, time and attendance management.
• Cleaning rooms actively as an individual while overseeing the other Housekeepers and performing cleaning checks to ensure the work is always done to best in class standards.
• Perform thorough cleaning of office space, common areas, and public spaces, including dusting, vacuuming, collecting trash and recycling, cleaning bathrooms and sanitizing surfaces.
• Care for floors by sweeping, mopping, and polishing to maintain a spotless appearance.
• Restock amenities such as toiletries, linens, and supplies.
• Follow established protocols for industrial cleaning and custodial tasks to uphold health and safety standards.
• Assist with laundry duties including washing, folding, and organizing linens and towels.
• Attending to any immediate issues that arise.
• Report maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly to ensure a safe environment for all.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn new skills.
• Strong ability to build relationships with students and peers.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

Requirements

• Up to 2 years of supervisor experience preferred.
• Experience tracking and ordering inventory.
• Ability to speak both English and Spanish, bilingual preferred.
• Must be able to ambulate around the campus, including hills, stairs, grass and gravel.
• Mandated Reporter Training

Skills

• Passion for working with the autism population
• Capable of strategic thinking
• Proven experience in cleaning, janitorial work
• Strong knowledge of floor care techniques including sweeping, mopping, buffing and polishing floors
• Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in fast-paced settings
• Excellent attention to detail with a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness standards
• Strong written communication skills, specifically involving documentation, progress notes, incident reports, and other related administrative tasks.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
