About the Role
MG+M The Law Firm is seeking experienced Litigation Paralegals for its Toxic Tort practice group. The firm is nationally renowned for complex civil litigation, focusing on toxic tort, product liability, and commercial litigation, aiming to deliver optimal results at the best possible value.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple complex litigation matters simultaneously.
- Monitor case filings and provide detailed assessments to attorneys.
- Draft, proofread, and finalize pleadings, discovery requests and responses, and other litigation documents under attorney supervision.
- Coordinate deposition logistics for plaintiffs, co-defendants, treating physicians, and expert witnesses.
- Review, index, and summarize deposition transcripts, medical records, employment and product identification records, and expert reports.
- Track and manage document productions, including coordination with document review platforms.
- Assist with preparation of expert witness materials.
- Liaise with co-defense counsel, defense/plaintiff liaison counsel, insurance carriers, and court personnel.
- Conduct legal and factual research, including product identification research, corporate history research, and case law relevant to exposure and causation defenses.
- Contemporaneous accounting and submission of personal billable time.
Requirements
- 5+ years’ experience in Toxic Tort Defense litigation is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel), Westlaw, PACER, and/or File & Serve Xpress.
- Attendance & Punctuality: Consistently arrive at work and meetings on time; ensure responsibilities are covered when absent.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with attorneys, other paralegals, and legal administrative assistants.
- Organization: Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Customer service: Respond promptly to attorney and client requests for service and assistance; meet commitments.
- Dependability: Follow instructions, complete tasks on time, work independently, and commit to the hours necessary to meet deadlines.
- Teamwork: Contribute to building a positive team spirit and support the success of colleagues.
