About the Role
MG+M The Law Firm has an immediate opening for a Paralegal to join our General Liability practice group for any of our four California office locations: Irvine, Los Angeles, Walnut Creek, or San Francisco.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple complex litigation matters simultaneously.
- Monitor case filings and provide detailed assessments to attorneys.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and other litigation documents under attorney supervision.
- Coordinate and communicate with clients, insurance adjusters, expert witnesses, court personnel, and opposing counsel as directed.
- Conduct legal and factual research, including case law, statutes, and public records searches, and summarize findings for attorney review.
- Prepare and organize case files, exhibits, and trial binders; maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic case files.
- Assist with the preparation for depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials, including witness and exhibit logistics.
- Process and track subpoenas, records requests, and third-party discovery.
- Review and analysis of discovery documents including medical records, sales documents, employment records, and other case materials.
- Record and submit contemporaneous billable time in accordance with firm policies.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5+ years of General Liability Defense litigation experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel), Westlaw, PACER, and File & Serve Xpress.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a large caseload with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Consistently arrive at work and meetings on time; ensure responsibilities are covered when absent.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with attorneys, other paralegals, and legal administrative assistants.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Respond promptly to attorney and client requests for service and assistance; meet commitments.
- Follow instructions, complete tasks on time, work independently, and commit to the hours necessary to meet deadlines.
- Contribute to building a positive team spirit and support the success of colleagues.
