About the Role
As a Facilities Maintenance Career Technical Training (CTT) Instructor, you'll teach valuable trade skills while mentoring students as they prepare for rewarding careers in facilities maintenance, building operations, and skilled trades.
Responsibilities
- Deliver hands-on instruction in facilities maintenance and building systems
- Prepare students to earn industry-recognized certifications and complete Career Technical Training
- Teach practical skills that lead to employment or advanced training opportunities
- Develop individualized student achievement plans and provide ongoing mentorship
- Connect students with employment opportunities and assist with graduate placement
- Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging shop/classroom environment
- Reinforce workplace professionalism, safety standards, and Career Success Standards
- Collaborate with instructors and support staff to promote student success and retention
Requirements
- Minimum of one year of teaching or related industry experience
- Certified, licensed, or accredited in the applicable trade (or accredited by a professional trade organization)
- Previous Job Corps experience preferred
- Valid driver's license required and must meet company insurability requirements
- Ability to safely demonstrate trade techniques and lift up to 40 pounds, depending on the trade
