About the Role

Longhorn Village is seeking a Physical Therapist with a strong positive attitude toward customer service and a genuine interest in geriatric care. The role involves evaluating and treating patients, maintaining documentation, and conducting training for patients, clients, and team members.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Therapist Assistants and therapy students in direct patient care.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and a collaborative team building approach.
  • Maintain productivity standards.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and application of Medicare and other reimbursement regulations.
  • Evaluate patients based upon physician referral/orders.
  • Develop effective treatment plans with functional, goal-based outcomes.
  • Treat patients according to the treatment plan.
  • Record clinical documentation according to regulatory and professional guidelines.
  • Record daily treatment charges.
  • Instruct families and nursing staff regarding restorative/home programs.
  • Participate in discharge planning.
  • Communicate with supervisor and other health staff regarding patient progress.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and other required meetings.
  • Participate in in-service training.
  • Coordinate with members of other departments, attending physicians, and other staff.
  • Screen patients based upon identified need.

Requirements

  • Must be able to read regulations and write clearly.
  • Must be able to communicate in a courteous, friendly manner.
  • Ability to effectively manage and direct subordinates.
  • Possess the ability to make independent decisions.
  • Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and governmental agencies.
  • Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures necessary for quality resident care.
