About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Test Automation Developer to join our GB&T – Software Development team. You are recognized as a quality assurance ambassador, thorough, and detail-oriented, motivated by delivering a great user experience using cutting-edge technology.
Responsibilities
- Test Automation Framework development and maintenance.
- Responsible for the full stack automation scripts end to end for at least one strategic application.
- Responsible for developing high quality automated test cases that are reusable for strategic systems.
- Identifies reusable modules and components within the application automation scripts.
- Defines branching strategy and performs code reviews.
- Builds strong relationships with development and product teams to understand the product and its intricacies.
- Debugs and manages defect prioritization in partnership with Support and Product teams.
- Fills in gaps in test coverage and adds new scenarios.
- Works closely with the Business Analyst and Development team to deliver tasks on time and with expected quality.
- Brings ideas regarding test/code design.
- Influences and communicates cross-functionally and across teams.
- Tests cloud-based infrastructure solutions with strong governance model knowledge.
- Performs QA automation through scripting and testing tools.
- Plans and manages daily tasks using agile methodologies.
- Quickly identifies problems or bottlenecks in everyday processes and suggests improvements.
- Performs risk assessments and gap analysis.
- Takes initiative, innovates, and experiments.
- Creates high-quality test documentation, including test case identification and communication.
- Builds and maintains test suites, test cases, and defects.
- Supports the Development team's Agile processes.
- Brings QA approach, strategy, and analytical thinking to the SDLC.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or DEC in a field related to IT or any other combination of experience and related training deemed relevant.
- Minimum 5 to 8 years of Quality Assurance and Test Automation in an Insurance or Finance Company.
- Experience in designing, building, maintaining, and developing scenarios for UI and API (REST) test automation using a BDD approach.
- Experience in building component and reusable tests.
- Experience in integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of Git, CI/CD tools (i.e. Jenkins, Bitbucket pipelines, etc).
- Experience in testing Web based applications, multi-language, and multi-browser.
- Experienced in creating BDD design (Cucumber) and Page Object Model.
- Experienced in Jira and Confluence.
- Experience in Agile and Iterative process: Scrum.
- For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada.
- No Canadian work experience required.
