About the Role

We are seeking insurance professionals with 5 to 10+ years of commercial insurance experience and an active P&C license, for current and future opportunities within our Account Management career path. Multiple experience levels are considered, including Account Manager, Senior Account Manager, and Senior Account Executive opportunities. The Commercial Lines Account Management team manages and retains client relationships, supports new business, delivers exceptional service, and ensures operational excellence. Responsibilities expand with career advancement to include technical leadership, strategic client consulting, business development, and team oversight.

Responsibilities

  • Manage an assigned book of business by providing day-to-day client service, supporting account retention efforts, coordinating policy administration activities, and ensuring accurate and timely execution of service deliverables.
  • Respond to client service requests and inquiries.
  • Process policy changes, endorsements, billing requests, and claims support.
  • Conduct coverage analysis and assist clients with policy-related questions.
  • Maintain positive client relationships through responsive service.
  • Manage policy expirations and renewal timelines.
  • Gather underwriting information and prepare renewal submissions.
  • Support renewal marketing efforts and proposal development.
  • Assist with account retention initiatives.
  • Maintain agency management systems and carrier/vendor platforms.
  • Ensure account documentation is accurate and complete.
  • Monitor activity and suspense systems to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Follow company policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Assist with accounts receivable monitoring and collection efforts.
  • Resolve billing and payment issues as needed.
  • Maintain technical insurance knowledge and industry awareness.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrate company values and a commitment to client service excellence.
  • Serve as a technical resource and workflow leader for the account management team.
  • Provide guidance on complex service matters and support operational excellence across the department.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for insurance products, coverages, and account management processes.
  • Provide guidance on complex client service, coverage, billing, and claims issues.
  • Support escalation resolution and risk management discussions.
  • Direct daily account management workflows and priorities.
  • Monitor team workloads and service standards.
  • Coordinate activities to meet quality, productivity, and service expectations.
  • Communicate proactively regarding workload, priorities, and operational challenges.
  • Share technical expertise and best practices with team members.
  • Support training and development initiatives.
  • Promote process improvements and operational efficiencies.
  • Provide strategic leadership for a complex portfolio of clients by coordinating marketing, servicing, risk management, and sales activities.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, Producers, and account teams while driving retention, growth, and client advocacy efforts.
  • Manage executive-level client relationships.
  • Conduct client meetings and strategic business reviews.
  • Prepare and present account summaries, risk management recommendations, and coverage strategies.
  • Serve as the primary advisor on complex insurance and risk management matters.
  • Identify cross-sell and up-sell opportunities.
  • Support Producers in new business development and client retention efforts.
  • Negotiate and close new business opportunities and renewals.
  • Develop growth strategies within assigned accounts.
  • Act as the primary communication liaison between Producers and account teams.
  • Coordinate strategic account planning and execution.
  • Support sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Lead complex renewal and marketing processes.
  • Conduct loss run analysis and evaluate underwriting information.
  • Negotiate coverage terms, conditions, and pricing.
  • Oversee binding, issuance, billing, delivery, and servicing activities.
  • Manage complex policy forms, endorsements, contracts, audits, certificates, evidences, and cancellations.
  • Exercise independent judgment and discretion in client and business decisions.
  • Direct account team activities to ensure service standards and deadlines are achieved.
  • Lead problem-solving efforts for highly complex client situations.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of account management experience or 5+ years of insurance industry experience.
  • Active insurance license.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance products and brokerage operations.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of account management experience or 7+ years of insurance industry experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of insurance brokerage operations.
  • Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and problem-solving skills.
  • 8+ years of insurance industry experience or 10+ years of client relationship, sales, or marketing experience.
  • CIC or equivalent professional designation required.
  • Strong strategic consulting, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex client portfolios.
  • Excellent communication, delegation, leadership, and customer advocacy skills.
