About the Role
As a Product Designer at Regal, you will simplify the complex task of building Voice AI agents, making it intuitive for users. You will join at a pivotal moment, investing in AI to build AI and reimagine our user experience. This role reports to the VP of Product and is part of a small design team, partnering directly with Product and Engineering to set the bar for design excellence and execute an AI-first redesign.
Responsibilities
- Shape the vision for AI-first design, defining the future of Regal's product design.
- Partner with product and engineering to set the direction for experience evolution and rethink information architecture for AI-driven products.
- Work closely with Product Managers and Engineers in a triad to develop designs that meet customer and business needs.
- Conduct qualitative user research and usability testing to understand customer problems and translate insights into design work.
- Maintain Regal's design library and patterns in collaboration with engineering, ensuring seamless integration and maintainability.
- Develop a design framework for the AI-driven development era to enable feature development within the design system.
- Establish a strong working process with product and engineering to ensure customer needs are met, constraints are addressed, and well-designed features are shipped consistently.
- Serve as a leader within the product team and help elevate execution.
Requirements
- Demonstrate strong visual taste through portfolio projects showcasing premium and thoughtful UI work.
- Exhibit sharp UX instincts, designing experiences that anticipate user needs and balancing functionality with design feasibility.
- Be AI-native, up-to-date on the latest AI tools, and possess a perspective on how design is changing.
- Have experience building patterns for AI-driven development and scaffolding for scale.
- Possess a point of view on how design works for chat-heavy interfaces.
- Speak to at least 3 major design initiatives executed at prior companies that addressed a large surface area with meaningful customer or business impact.
- Ideally, have led two to three major face-lifts of different product surface areas.
- Be a great product teammate, demonstrating a deep understanding of customers and product, operating with urgency, seeking the truth, communicating clearly, and leading naturally.
