About the Role

Functions as a fully competent Landscape Architect, responsible for planning and designing community facilities and places. Assesses proposal feasibility and manages complex landscape architecture projects, ensuring authenticity to local context. Manages clients, tracks budgets, and engages in business development and networking. May require work outside normal business hours.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for technical and Project Management for the day-to-day preparation of deliverables.
  • Develop and grow client relationships and partnerships.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day staffing and project scheduling.
  • Lead or assist on complex LA projects, designs, planning studies, contracts, and proposals.
  • Review complete project documents and QA/QC.
  • Represent the organization in communications and conferences.
  • Train and provide technical guidance to staff.
  • Produce project reports, designs, graphics in plan, section, and 3-D / Perspective views.
  • Lead project/public meetings on complex projects.
  • Responsible for QA/QC.
  • Attend proposal interviews.
  • Prepare bills for projects.
  • Identifies, organizes and leads community service programs.
  • Functional manager to staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Supervise all staff necessary to complete assignments.
  • Ability to provide effective supervision and staff management.

Requirements

  • 10 years of experience, including 3 to 4 years supervisory.
  • Landscape Architecture license is strongly desired.
  • Active member of a professional practice organization.
  • Thorough knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of Landscape Architecture and Planning.
  • Strong organizational skills required; ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have advanced oral, written and graphic communication skills.
  • Must be able to efficiently and effectively delegate tasks/projects.
  • Must be able to effectively motivate and develop staff.
  • Must have strong financial skills related to budget and project billing.
  • Knowledge of pertinent federal, state and local laws, codes and regulations.
  • Adept with citizen involvement techniques and processes.
