About the Role

The Temporary Associate Merchandiser collaborates with the lead Merchandiser on the execution of departmental strategies and business objectives. This role is responsible for translating information and ideas into an actionable business plan and supporting the department with necessary tactical responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Own assigned product categories and manage the seasonal merchandising process from concept through commercialization.
  • Manage seasonal development calendars and merchandising milestones to ensure timely execution.
  • Partner with lead Merchandiser to establish pricing and margin strategies that achieve financial objectives.
  • Maintain accurate assortment plans, costing sheets, pricing records, and margin tracking for assigned categories.
  • Analyze sales performance, product trends, customer insights, and competitive activity to identify opportunities and make assortment recommendations.
  • Work with the marketing department to coordinate tools needed for PDP shoots and paper trims development.
  • Build relationships with Cross-Functional partners and participate as a solution-oriented team member, contributing to a high performing team.
  • Conduct competitive shopping and market research to identify emerging trends, whitespace opportunities, and best practices.
  • Prepare all necessary documents and resources for major Product Lifecycle Meetings, including Hindsight and Sales meetings.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of Merchandising experience
  • BA or BS Degree (Fashion Merchandising preferred)
  • Proficient in MS Office and Google
  • Knowledge of retail math

Skills

  • Strong Merchandising and Product Development knowledge with ability to manage categories independently
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical capabilities
  • Strong fashion sense, with a sense of brand and client needs
  • Broad-based business acumen with the potential to grow to the Merchant level
  • Ability to be an active listener and take direction
  • Excellent organizational ability to facilitate multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment

  • $30.00 - $35.00/hourly
