About the Role
As a Senior Incident Response Manager, you will be a problem solver and a driver for prevention and development, always with the goal of protecting our clients. You will lead and manage incident response engagements, analyze and contain IT security incidents, and develop preventative measures. You will also contribute to the development of incident response processes and tools, including increasing automation and AI usage.
Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and handle incident response engagements from initial alarm to final report.
- Rapidly analyze and contain IT security incidents at the system, network, and application level by guiding clients and their service providers.
- Create and implement action plans to limit damage and restore affected systems.
- Prepare reports, including forensic final reports.
- Coordinate actions and procedures between insurers, policyholders, and their IT service providers.
- Document and forensically process incidents for evidence preservation and root cause analysis.
- Further develop incident response processes and playbooks for continuous optimization of response capabilities.
- Conduct post-incident analyses (lessons learned) and develop preventative measures.
- Collaborate closely with internal IT teams, departments, and external partners within incident management processes.
- Jointly expand and maintain the existing incident response tool landscape with the rest of the Incident Response Management team, further increasing the degree of automation and use of AI.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in incident response, cyber defense, blue team, or IT forensics.
- Deep operational experience in the rapid analysis, containment, and remediation of cybersecurity incidents.
- Sound knowledge of current attack techniques (e.g., ransomware, phishing, APTs) and defense measures.
- Long-standing and in-depth experience in the IT forensics field (including malware analysis).
- Good understanding of network technologies, operating systems (Windows, Linux), and cloud environments (M365, AWS, Azure, GoogleCloud).
- Ability to act in a structured and decisive manner, even under high time pressure.
- Very good and targeted communication skills, especially for conveying complex issues to management (C-level) as well as IT departments/service providers and non-IT-savvy employees.
- Consulting clients after IT security incidents and creating and expanding IT security concepts.
- Fluent German (C1 or native) and good English (at least B-level) are required.
