About the Role

Monogram, a Zimmer Biomet Company, is hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Austin, Texas. This role involves developing cutting-edge robotic technologies to improve patient outcomes and relieve pain globally.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and specify product functional requirements and testing strategies according to user needs, internal and external standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Design, test, and integrate components and sub-assemblies to produce the overall final product design.
  • Identify root causes of issues, determine potential solutions, and evaluate them against requirements.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with other members of the development team, contract manufacturers, designers, and product specialists.
  • Achieve relevant performance, time-to-market objectives, and product and project cost targets, while achieving product quality goals.
  • Develop hardware according to system and subsystems requirements.
  • Create CAD 3D models and detailed engineering drawings meeting company drafting standards.

Requirements

  • Experience developing power tools.
  • Experience in engineering simulations such as FEA and CFD.
  • Experience leading or participating in risk analysis evaluation and dFMEA.
  • Familiarity with risk management tools and techniques.
  • Proficiency in stackup tolerance analysis techniques for mechanical assemblies.
  • Experience developing medical devices and familiarity with V&V testing and 510K submission activities.
  • Past experience with thermal treatment of stainless steel and welding experience.
  • Working knowledge of 3D modeling software.
  • Experience in EMC and Safety Testing for IEC60601 certification.
  • Experience with Solidworks.
  • Direct experience working in the Medical Device industry.
