About the Role
The Brooklyn Justice Initiatives (BJI) seeks a Clinical Manager to oversee SRP Clinicians, providing intake, assessment, evidence-based programming, and crisis support. This role involves supervision, case conferencing, and quality assurance to ensure ethical and effective clinical interventions aligned with the program model and organizational values.
Responsibilities
- Provide weekly supervision and bi-weekly group supervision to SRP Clinicians.
- Offer clinical support in community offices, including stakeholder communication and emergency service coordination.
- Provide coverage for supervised Clinicians as needed.
- Review mandatory programming recommendations for appropriateness before court submission.
- Support policy and protocol implementation in collaboration with leadership and the SRP Court Reform team.
- Collaborate with training specialists to ensure consistent staff training.
- Co-facilitate required clinical trainings, including intake, assessment, de-escalation, and crisis intervention.
- Implement group and individual programming in collaboration with the Court Reform team and SRP clinicians.
- Oversee quality assurance and monitor team compliance with program requirements, best practices, and court reporting obligations.
- Ensure effective cross-team communication and collaboration to identify opportunities for program improvement.
- Support the recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and training of new clinical team members.
- Ensure equitable access to external professional development and training opportunities for staff.
- Participate in regular staff trainings to enhance program expertise and skill sets.
- Perform additional relevant tasks as necessary.
Requirements
- LMSW, MHC or equivalent licensure required; LCSW preferred.
- 4 years of direct practice experience (therapeutic or case management).
- 2 years of supervisory experience required.
- Group work development and facilitation experience strongly preferred.
- Experience in the pretrial or criminal legal system strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting individuals with specialized needs (substance abuse, mental health, co-occurring disorders, intimate partner violence, adolescent development) strongly preferred.
- Therapeutic intervention training and experience preferred, including crisis intervention or de-escalation management.
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience with local social service providers required.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Experience using trauma-informed and strength-based approaches strongly preferred.
- Training and experience with Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy strongly preferred.
- Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a highly interdependent, multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional demeanor and ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders (judges, prosecutors, defense attorneys, court staff, agencies).
- Bilingual (English-Spanish) strongly preferred.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must verify identity and eligibility to work and complete employment verification upon hire.
