  • Serve as job captain, owning the completeness, accuracy, and consistency of drawing sets.
  • Onboard and train new drafters on firm standards, templates, and detail libraries.
  • Balance team workload and flag capacity and schedule risks to project managers.
  • Coordinate drawings with architects, designers, and project managers to align documentation with design intent.
  • Incorporate structural, MEP, lighting, and AV information into drawing sets and resolve conflicts.
  • Conduct field measurements and site surveys, translating existing conditions into accurate base drawings.
  • Respond to contractor RFIs and issue sketch clarifications during construction administration.
  • Review shop drawings and submittments against documented design and note discrepancies.
  • Apply and help maintain firm CAD standards, title blocks, layer conventions, and detail libraries.
  • Perform quality checks before issuing drawings, including dimension strings, tags, schedules, and note accuracy.
  • Ensure drawings align with applicable building code, accessibility, and NYC filing requirements.
  • Contribute to improving templates and typical details.
