About the Role

The purpose of this job is to process parts according to customer specifications and production efficiencies.

Responsibilities

  • Read traveler to determine the optimum process for the designated part to be plated.
  • Follow the traveler process specifications step by step.
  • Set up and control plating equipment to coat metal electrolytically or chemically with various metals.
  • Monitor process control of all plating and cleaning baths to ensure processes are within predetermined parameters.
  • Follow established safety procedures and work instructions.
  • Measure, mark, and mask areas to exclude from plating per traveler.
  • Operate manual or automatic hoist systems for submerging parts in plating or cleaning baths.
  • Rack parts by hand onto racks using racking work instructions.
  • Plate parts using a motor-driven barrel system.
  • Operate electroplating equipment with reverse polarity (platting stripper).
  • Work with substances defined as hazardous waste, such as chrome sludge.
  • Handle hazardous waste in containerizing, transporting, testing, or other assigned duties.
  • Perform other tasks as required to fulfill Lincoln Industries' Beliefs and Drivers.

Requirements

  • Must be able to read, write, and comprehend the English language.
  • Must be able to read work instructions and travelers to follow proper procedures.
  • Must be able to read safety warnings and chemical labels.
  • Must be able to communicate verbally with others.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
