About the Role
The Process Control Supervisor is responsible for the safe and efficient manufacturing of the Company's cement products. This role oversees equipment optimization, utilization, and reliability while maintaining environmental compliance, quality, and budgeted costs. A fully certified PCS is competent in quality control laboratory procedures, remote plant operation, and supervising bargaining unit employees.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all subordinates are working and promoting safety at all times through daily, weekly and monthly safety communications, on the job coaching and by taking a leadership role in the plant safety program.
- Oversee consistent production of all cement, clinker and raw mix within established quality guidelines ensuring appropriate actions and communication for any deviations.
- Monitor all plant process systems and related auxiliary equipment from a central location ensuring the safety of all employees and integrity of the company assets.
- Provide field supervision, maintain good labor relations, develop subordinates, and administer prevailing labor agreement.
- Optimize equipment utilization in cooperation with the process and maintenance departments.
- Adhere to documented plant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and environmental requirements.
- Operate process, operation and personal computers and software including Microsoft Office, Human Machine Interface (HMI) screens, LUCIE, IP21 and PPW Downtime Reporting.
- Maintain knowledge of capacity and production rates of all major pieces of equipment.
- Keep a running log of the shifts activities including equipment down time and reasons, quality information, and a general report of the shift operation.
- Perform field checks and trouble shooting of raw/finish mill/kiln systems in compliance with company quality standards.
- Perform accurate analysis of various materials and reporting results, making necessary adjustments.
- Act as the Plant Emergency Response Coordinator as well as contact person for emergency response personnel and/or regulatory agency representatives.
- Other duties as assigned when not required in the control room.
- Produce quality clinker and saleable cement quantities as per budget.
- Adhere to product quality standards and environmental compliance.
- Successfully attain a control room operator certification through on the job training and formal training sessions.
- Assist in the administration of the Plant’s collective bargaining agreement, the handling of grievances and the application of discipline / commendation.
- Operate within company internal controls systems assuring effective and efficient operations while protecting the company from fraudulent activities and the resources of the company.
- Ensure compliance with internal control procedures - communicating problems in operations, unwarranted deviations from established standards, and violations of policy or law.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3 years experience in cement manufacturing or related industry.
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators.
- Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.

- Rotating DuPont 12 hour shift schedule
