About the Role
Woodridge is currently seeking a skilled and dependable General Maintenance professional to join our facilities team. This role is responsible for performing a wide range of preventive and corrective maintenance tasks to ensure the safety, functionality, and comfort of our buildings and equipment. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical knowledge, a proactive attitude, and a commitment to safety and service excellence.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs.
- Perform preventive maintenance of equipment such as boilers, pumps, compressors, and fans.
- Work with DDC temperature control systems, oil-fired water heaters, and automatic water softeners.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical repair instructions.
- Diagnose and resolve maintenance issues independently.
- Respond to emergency calls or unexpected repairs with sound judgment.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment status, and repairs.
- Adhere to all safety protocols including universal precautions, PPE use, and hazardous material handling.
- Conduct and document monthly fire drills and emergency generator tests.
- Report policy or safety violations promptly and follow escalation procedures.
- Respond professionally to maintenance and security calls from staff.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments.
- Provide supervision and guidance to diversional work programs as needed.
- Rotate shifts and respond to off-hour emergencies.
- Work across multiple facilities under CVMC, Inc.
- Perform seasonal tasks such as mowing, raking, and snow removal.
Requirements
- One year of formal training in a skilled trade or two to three years of on-the-job training experience in plant maintenance.
