About the Role

The Human Resources Generalist serves as a collaborative business partner to the HR Manager and Director of Human Resources, focusing on daily HR administration, employee/labor relations, leave administration, recruitment, and compliance. This role ensures adherence to Keolis' HR policies, reporting requirements, customer service standards, and client needs, while closely coordinating all HR functions.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively engage in employee and labor relations issues.
  • Serve as a liaison between management and employees to resolve issues and grievances.
  • Recommend employee discipline per the CBA.
  • Collaborate with site leadership on employee decisions and HR processes.
  • Conduct and complete employee investigations with professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Represent the Company at hearings.
  • Create work rules pertaining to site operations while adhering to the CBA.
  • Demonstrate employee advocacy and build a reputation as a neutral HR professional.
  • Build working relationships with union representatives to resolve grievances.
  • Lead HR and business project initiatives.
  • Implement HR operational strategies.
  • Conduct and analyze exit interviews.
  • Engage in employee development activities.
  • Develop and implement facility-staffing strategies including community outreach.
  • Manage programs, policies, and procedures for change management and company culture.
  • Support management with the performance review process.
  • Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing company policy, procedures, federal and state law.
  • Maintain employee files and electronic records.
  • Contribute to the leadership team in accomplishing HR tasks for client requests.
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert on human resource disciplines.
  • Evaluate potential issues or service needs and formulate strategic responses.
  • Complete HR reports (e.g., payroll reports, trackers).
  • Lead talent management in establishing recruiting, testing, and interviewing programs.
  • Manage candidate staffing, selection, and community outreach.
  • Run background screening for new hires and annually for current employees.
  • Partner with the recruiting department in creating and approving job requisitions.
  • Maintain job boards and internal postings as per CBA.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team in selecting candidates.
  • Maintain work structure by updating job requirements and descriptions.
  • Conduct onboard training and site orientation.
  • Conduct periodic pay surveys, job evaluations, and employee incentives.
  • Process promotions and demotions.
  • Provide new employees with benefits log-in information and access to the me@keolis portal.
  • Assist employees with their selected benefits electronically.
  • Train managers on candidate selection, interviewing, coaching, and disciplining employees.
  • Conduct orientation training for new employees and give facility tours.
  • Oversee and create the implementation of training using a tracking system.
  • Partner with the Leave Administrator in processing all leaves of absence (FMLA, PDL, ADA, Workers Comp).
  • Notify employees of approved/denied leave and administer applicable information.
  • Complete and keep up-to-date leave trackers.
  • Collect benefit payments for employees on leave.

Requirements

  • 3+ years progressive HR experience
  • 2 years investigation experience
  • Must be able to pass extensive background check
  • Computer proficient
  • Travel required between facilities
  • Legal knowledge and understanding of HR practices and policies
  • Employment contingent upon passing pre-employment drug and alcohol screen.
  • Contingent upon receiving a favorable background check.
  • Must pass a physical examination.
