About the Role

The Acting Lead Housekeeper prepares work assignments, monitors and trains housekeeping staff to ensure that all procedures are completed to department standards.

Responsibilities

  • Exhibits a friendly, helpful and courteous manner when dealing with guests and associates to communicate guest service scores and drive improvement.
  • Must be flexible in scheduling, including holidays and weekends.
  • Fosters a teamwork mentality with staff and other leads by leading by example.
  • Trains and develops new staff members in accordance with department standard operating procedures.
  • Assists in the preparation of schedules and reviews.
  • Practices safe work habits, wears protective safety equipment, and enforces safety standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Coaches and counsels employees in accordance with the disciplinary process.
  • Prepares all necessary paperwork to complete work orders and submits them to the Facilities Department.
  • Leads staff efficiently and effectively by assigning tasks and inspecting work for conformance to standards.
  • Possesses a strong work ethic, positive attitude, is detail-oriented, reliable, and able to work well independently.
  • Performs basic computer work.
  • Performs other duties as requested by management.

Requirements

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
  • Must obtain and maintain a New York State certification and St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Gaming Class III License, which requires a criminal background check.
  • Successful candidates must submit to and pass a drug test for illegal substances prior to employment confirmation.
  • Must be able to be flexible in scheduling, including holidays and weekends.
