About the Role

We are hiring a forward-deployed software engineer to be the technical owner of our provider network platform. This platform manages provider data, determines coverage for member transactions, and ensures accurate provider information. You will work at the intersection of engineering, network operations, and member support, shipping fixes the same day and monitoring key performance indicators. A significant part of the role involves building AI agents to streamline operational workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Own the codebase, including full-stack Python and TypeScript services, ingestion pipelines, matching logic, internal API, and admin tooling.
  • Own the data, ensuring messy third-party rosters are transformed into a canonical, trustworthy network picture.
  • Own matching and identity resolution to accurately determine provider and transaction coverage.
  • Own the real-time decision service, managing latency, uptime, SLOs, and safe deployment practices.
  • Own AI leverage, including tooling, prompts, skills, and evaluations to enhance engineer productivity and operational workflows.
  • Own the internal API, ensuring reliable contracts for consuming teams.
  • Design and build systems for detecting and acting on misuse of the Curative Cash Card.
  • Own production infrastructure, including cloud services, deployment pipelines, migrations, observability, on-call, incident response, and data privacy.
  • Monitor and report on operational metrics, proposing changes to improve platform performance.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders in network operations, member services, and other teams to define the roadmap and product direction.
  • Develop deep understanding of the provider network domain within 90 days.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience shipping production software.
  • Real fluency in Python and TypeScript.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript and React for frontend development.
  • Strong SQL and relational database fundamentals, including query plan analysis and migration safety.
  • Experience building data-intensive applications with messy third-party data.
  • Comfort with matching or deduplication problems (record linkage, entity resolution, etc.).
  • Experience running systems where latency and availability are critical.
  • A correctness mindset, prioritizing checks, invariants, and audit trails.
  • Strong systems thinking and architectural reasoning skills.
  • Production cloud experience (AWS, GCP, or equivalent).
  • Comfort working directly with non-technical stakeholders.
  • Sharp written communication skills for prompts, specs, and PR descriptions.
  • Prior healthcare, insurance, or payments experience is not required, but interest in messy-data problems is valued.
  • Experience using AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, etc.) as a primary development tool.
  • Ability to review AI-generated code thoroughly and provide direction.
  • Experience building tooling to enhance AI effectiveness.
  • Experience shipping LLM-backed features with real-world actions.
  • Experience with payments, risk, or fraud systems.
  • Experience with search and relevance or embeddings in a production path.
  • Experience with data platforms or master data management.
  • Experience extracting services from monoliths.
