About the Role
Oversee general accounting activities related to mergers and acquisitions, supporting transactions from due diligence through post-close integration. Responsibilities include integration accounting, general ledger activities, purchase accounting, and financial reporting for newly acquired business units. Seeking applicants with strong technical accounting judgment, analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to adapt and deliver in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Responsibilities
- Own monthly general ledger close activities and prepare balance sheet reconciliations across legacy and newly acquired business units.
- Prepare monthly journal entries, including purchase accounting, opening balance sheet, and integration-related adjustments.
- Integrate acquired entities’ charts of accounts and general ledger processes into company systems and align local practices with global standards.
- Support merger and acquisition due diligence by reviewing target financial information, identifying accounting risks, and assisting with purchase price allocation.
- Partner with Financial Planning and Analysis and integration teams on general ledger analysis and post-close accounting activities.
- Use AI-assisted tools to help accelerate reconciliations, identify anomalies, and draft reports while reviewing outputs for accuracy and quality.
- Stay current on accounting standards, internal policies, and business combination guidance, and calculate vendor royalty payments as assigned.
Requirements
- 5+ years’ applicable accounting experience with demonstrated knowledge and success, including 2+ years’ specialized or industry experience.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial troubleshooting abilities.
- Strong technical accounting judgment, with the ability to quickly learn new systems, processes, and procedures and adapt local practices to global standards.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities, manage time effectively, and contribute successfully within a team environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work with colleagues at all levels of an organization.
