About the Role
YWCA NENY’s Early Learning Center is growing, and we are hiring both Assistant Teachers and Lead Teachers for our Infant and Toddler classrooms. You will help create a warm, engaging, and safe environment where children can learn, play, and reach important milestones.
Responsibilities
- Support and create engaging, age-appropriate learning activities
- Foster a positive, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment
- Observe and document children’s development and progress
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and team members
- Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming classroom
- Lead or support classroom routines, planning, and daily activities based on role responsibilities
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED required for Assistant Teacher role
- Childcare experience preferred for Assistant Teacher role
- CDA or Early Childhood Education coursework is a plus for Assistant Teacher role
- CDA, Associate's degree, or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred for Lead Teacher role
- Previous experience leading or working in an early childhood classroom setting for Lead Teacher role
- A passion for early childhood education and helping children grow
- Ability to engage in active play and lift up to 25 lbs. when needed
