About the Role
The Freelance Lecturer at Berlin School of Business and Innovation will be the principal academic contact and leader for assigned academic work. This arrangement offers flexibility while maintaining high standards.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to teaching, research supervision, or a combination of both.
- Teach assigned academic modules according to the curriculum and timetable.
- Amend or design and develop new curriculum if required.
- Create learning materials, including presentations and supporting resources.
- Provide consultation and mentoring to students.
- Ensure students receive guidance for developing relevant skills.
- Prepare students for summative assessment through formative assessment.
- Communicate effectively with students and provide regular feedback.
- Play a proactive role in promoting the school through academic activities and thought leadership.
- Monitor student performance in academic environments.
- Supervise Dissertations/Projects/Internships according to prescribed standards.
- Participate in School’s activities as assigned.
Requirements
- PhD or equivalent qualification with evidence of theoretical/practical knowledge in the domain of expertise.
- Strong knowledge of practical tools and techniques, if applicable.
- Very good knowledge of Windows OS and MS Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Fluent in spoken and written English (C2 level).
- Very good organizational and communication skills.
- High social competence and assertiveness.
- Ability to maintain an overview even with high workloads.
- Resilient and flexible.
- Scientific publications in a related discipline (desirable).
- Prior teaching experience in higher education at the University level (desirable).
- Professional experience in the field of expertise (desirable).
- Knowledge of Educational Platforms (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard) (desirable).
- Sound knowledge of study regulations and rules (desirable).
