About the Role
Yonder is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Associate Director to join their Public and Social Insights Unit. This role involves working with government departments, councils, charities, regulators, and industry bodies, providing complete decision intelligence for absolute conviction through high-quality data, elite data science, and high-value insight.
Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day management of projects with government departments, councils, charities, regulators, and industry bodies.
- Determine the best approach for addressing client challenges creatively.
- Analyze qualitative and quantitative data and market intelligence to advise clients at a strategic level.
- Produce intelligent and actionable insights through storytelling and data visualization.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of communications strategy.
- Evaluate campaign effectiveness.
- Deliver consultations and evaluation work.
- Use research and consulting techniques to answer client questions and solve problems.
- Take the lead in managing projects and delivering client work to the highest standard.
- Design and conduct projects, managing colleagues and suppliers to produce final reports, presentations, and recommendations.
- Oversee and manage the work of less experienced team members, providing feedback.
- Develop thought leadership to support engagement with public sector clients.
Requirements
- At least 5-6 years of experience in a strategic, analytical, or research capacity.
- Focus on helping clients understand their audiences and operating environment, and make better decisions, particularly relating to public policy, regulation, and communications.
- Strong experience in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
- Broad range of interests and passion for public sector research with a real-world impact.
- Outstanding storytelling, written, and verbal skills.
- Ability to manage projects independently.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Experience leading client relationships and confidence in a client-facing role.
- Solid track record of successful new business development from existing and new clients.
- Strong experience of public sector procurement and rules.
- Experience writing public sector tenders.
- Clear understanding of how to propose and deliver social value.
- Ability to creatively apply data and intelligence to public sector challenges.
- Use initiative to grow, develop, and learn.
- Experience managing less experienced team members.
