About the Role
The Software Engineer II – DevOps is responsible for building and maintaining continuous integration (CI) and continuous deployment (CD) processes to ensure software systems are built, tested, and deployed securely, reliably, and reproducibly. This role involves collaborating with development and IT infrastructure teams to define system deployment parameters, diagnose issues, and monitor system capacity. Additionally, the role supports users and testers in diagnosing application environment issues.
Responsibilities
- Understands business requirements and assists with management of technical solutions to satisfy those needs.
- Works closely with other members of the development team to envision, design, and implement long-term architectures.
- Troubleshoots and fixes infrastructure issues across a suite of applications on the .NET platform with development and IT teams.
- Develops application modules in C# with development and QA teams to enhance management, logging, and monitoring functionality.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience working in a similar role in the financial services industry.
- Experience must be related to business and include working on an international diversified team.
- Outstanding working knowledge of all Windows applications including Excel to an advanced level.
- Experience with financial markets trading and accounting platforms.
- Technical proficiency in Microsoft .NET Framework, C#, SQL Server, IIS.
- Experience maintaining large applications across entire Microsoft.NET stack: knowledge of C# language, SQL Server, IIS, ASP.NET MVC and WinForms.
- Knowledge of PowerShell, MSBuild, and NUnit.
- Knowledge of basic system administration concepts in a Microsoft Windows domain: user groups and permissions.
- Knowledge of common network protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP(S) and DNS).
- Knowledge of common networking concepts (Firewalls, NAT, Subnetting, VPC, VPNs).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Azure cloud architecture.
- Knowledge of virtual systems and computer resources.
- Knowledge of UNIX/Linux based systems.
- Experience working with Docker containers, Kubermetes and Helm charts.
- Knowledge of Azure DevOps.
- Experience using source control systems: Git.
- Experience deploying .NET and web applications to IIS-hosted Windows environments, including deployment configuration and troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge of XML for application configuration, deployment, and integration-related tasks.
- Familiarity with GitHub Advanced Security and secure development practices, including code-scanning concepts and the interpretation and remediation of findings.
- Understanding of data-security principles for personally identifiable information (PII), including data classification, protection, and anonymization processes.
- Experience implementing infrastructure as code with Bicep, including reusable modules and environment-specific deployment parameters.
- Knowledge of Azure Key Vault, managed identities, role-based access control (RBAC), and secure secrets and certificate management.
- Experience designing and maintaining Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines, including YAML-based definitions, artifact management, and multi-environment releases.
- Experience implementing application observability with Azure Application Insights, including telemetry, logging, alerting, and deployment diagnostics.
- Outstanding knowledge of computer and system security.
- Experience with CSLA.NET framework is a plus.
