About the Role

Mid Atlantic Express LLC is seeking an experienced Class A CDL Driver for our Syracuse, NY terminal. This hybrid driving position combines road driver and terminal scrap driver responsibilities. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-minded, flexible, and comfortable handling a variety of assignments, as daily responsibilities may change based on customer and terminal needs.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Class A tractor-trailer safely and professionally
• Transport scrap and recyclable materials between customer locations and processing facilities
• Complete local, regional, and occasional road-driving assignments
• Pick up, deliver, drop, and exchange trailers as assigned
• Perform required pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Properly complete bills of lading, trip sheets, inspection reports, and other required paperwork
• Follow all FMCSA, DOT, state, local, customer, and company safety requirements
• Maintain accurate Hours-of-Service records using the company’s electronic logging system
• Communicate promptly with dispatch and terminal management regarding delays, equipment concerns, or changes in load status
• Assist with terminal-related driving assignments as operational needs require
• Maintain a clean, safe, and professional tractor and work area

Requirements

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License
• Valid DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate
• Minimum of two years of verifiable Class A tractor-trailer driving experience
• Acceptable motor vehicle record
• Ability to operate a 53-foot tractor-trailer safely
• Working knowledge of DOT regulations and Hours-of-Service requirements
• Ability to pass all required pre-employment screenings
• Ability to work independently and adjust to changing daily assignments
• Reliable attendance and professional communication
• Flexibility, safety, and teamwork are essential to succeeding in this position.
