About the Role

As an assistant Basketball Coach, you'll play a key role in inspiring children and young people to get active, develop their skills and build confidence through sport. Working as part of Camden's Sport and Physical Activity Team, you'll deliver fun, inclusive and engaging basketball coaching sessions that encourage young people to develop a lifelong enjoyment of physical activity.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality coaching sessions for children and young people.
  • Create a safe, welcoming and positive environment for participants.
  • Support a range of community sport programmes.
  • Maintain accurate participant records.
  • Work collaboratively with schools, community organisations and colleagues.
  • Contribute to wider team activities, training and events.

Requirements

  • Recognised basketball coaching qualification (or equivalent).
  • Experience of coaching children and young people.
  • Passionate about using sport to positively influence young people's lives.
  • Committed to delivering enjoyable and inclusive coaching sessions.
  • Excellent communicator with strong organisational skills.
  • High professional standards.
  • Confident working with children, parents, teachers and partner organisations.
  • Act as a positive role model.
  • Willingness to continue developing coaching skills.
  • Willingness to contribute to the wider Sport and Physical Activity Team.
