About the Role

Responsibilities

• Supervise treatment and ensure clinical excellence as a clinic captain.
• Uphold and practice the Juno Standard of Care with compassion and collaboration.
• Ensure every pet and person feels valued.
• Diagnose and treat a range of diseases.
• Triage and stabilize urgent/emergent cases.
• Perform feline and canine spay and neuter surgeries.
• Perform procedures such as cryptorchid neuter, umbilical hernia repair, mass removals, cystotomy, laceration repair, eyelid surgery, enucleation, and gastropexy.
• Perform dental charting, read X-rays, and conduct procedures like gingival flaps, burring and sectioning, extractions, and closing extraction sites.
• Utilize DVM status for leadership in medicine, surgery, and dentistry.
• Manage patient appointments, procedures, lab work interpretation, and medication prescription.
• Follow up on clinic patients when the primary veterinarian is unavailable.
• Complete charting and tasks in a timely manner.
• Foster connections with members through positive client experiences, proactive plan formulation, conflict resolution, thoroughness, and efficiency.
• Participate in team meetings to enhance medical quality.
• Coach and support less experienced doctors and support staff.
• Develop positive relationships with the team.
• Communicate needs clearly and efficiently with support and leadership teams.
• Align with and promote Juno initiatives.
• Understand basic business needs, metrics, and benchmarks.
• Expand service offerings through continuing education and training.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinic setting.
• Proficiency in wellness, medicine, surgery, and dentistry.
• Ability to diagnose and treat infectious, inflammatory, metabolic, degenerative, physiologic, and environmental diseases.
• Comfort with POCUS and abdominal ultrasound is a plus.
• Must be comfortable with change.
• Must be comfortable with giving and receiving feedback.
• Must prefer collaboration over working alone.
• Must be willing to help with non-doctor tasks when needed and able.
• Must be able to hear and act on feedback.
