About the Role

This role involves the installation, service, and troubleshooting of fire alarm systems, requiring leadership and adherence to project deadlines and budgets. The technician will ensure project completion, manage documentation, conduct system testing, and train junior personnel. A strong emphasis is placed on safety, quality control, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Installation of fire alarm systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings
  • Installation, service, and troubleshooting of fire alarm systems and related equipment
  • Oversee, direct, and delegate tasks to meet project completion deadlines and goals
  • Ensure project results are achieved within financial and productivity budgets
  • Accurately complete and process required paperwork
  • Conduct and coordinate necessary system testing
  • Instruct and train helpers, apprentices, or other personnel
  • Coordinate daily work schedules and direct daily tasks of assigned employees
  • Maintain inventory on vehicle
  • Perform all other duties assigned

Requirements

  • Must have knowledge of fire alarm systems
  • Understand fire alarm installation requirements
  • Ability to properly read fire alarm blueprints, submittals, and operation/product manuals
  • Forklift and scissor lift certification, preferred
  • State of Texas Fire Alarm License Required
  • NICET Level II Fire Alarm and/or NICET Level II Special Hazards Preferred
  • Understanding of NFPA codes and standards
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience
  • Ability to travel outside of city and state
  • Ability to take direction from upper management
  • Accurately complete and maintain all paperwork
  • Maintain vehicle and tools as per company policy
  • Must have valid state driver's license and good driving record
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Knowledgeable with NFPA, NEC and local applicable codes and all necessary codes
  • Experience with powered hand tools, hand tools test equipment, multi-meter usage, digital analyzer and commissioning devices
  • Ability to interact and communicate in a professional and positive manner with other trades, customers, project managers, county officials, general contractors, etc.
  • Demonstrate positive teamwork and ability to be a team leader and mentor
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Comply with all company safety practices and the safety handbook
  • Complete projects in a timely manner while providing the highest standard of quality work and customer satisfaction
  • Ability to work overtime, out of town or on-call as needed
  • Must be able to travel frequently within the U.S. (up to 80%), often for several weeks at a time
  • Valid driver's license and ability to fly are required
