About the Role

The Principal Consulting Manager leads managers and professional associates, overseeing performance, financial results, customer outcomes, and the successful delivery of multiple statewide projects within the Coplogic Solutions Business Unit. This role coaches Consulting Managers, manages risks and dependencies, and leads a cross-functional leadership team to execute statewide project plans aligned with business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the senior escalation point for assigned projects, making timely decisions and communicating portfolio performance, financial outlook, customer risks, delivery dependencies, and required leadership actions to senior executives.
  • Manages and influences multiple teams, providing leadership and direction through consulting managers, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Empowers staff to be accountable and responsible for their own actions and decisions.
  • Mentors Consulting Managers on maintaining a strategic, customer-driven perspective.
  • Demonstrates exceptional interpersonal and people leadership skills to build trust, influence outcomes, and manage diverse teams.
  • Interacts with customers frequently to understand their use cases and business in depth.
  • Balances organizational and customer needs to drive adoption of the strategic plan, focusing on reusability and scalability.
  • Manages and coaches teams to set clear customer expectations, communicate risks and tradeoffs, resolve concerns, and maintain alignment throughout the engagement lifecycle.
  • Professionally pushes back on customers to ensure and sustain agreements, deliveries, timelines, and project scope.
  • Helps the team drive new upsell and new build opportunities across their portfolio and assigned projects/states.
  • Establishes accurate, ambitious, and relevant Key Performance Objectives (KPOs) for the team.
  • Ensures Consulting Managers closely manage, track, monitor, and analyze revenue, expenses, and profitability.
  • Continually evaluates project efficiency regarding resource needs and allocations.
  • Manages and supports the budgeting process, including Budget and Revised Forecast processes.
  • Owns the strategy, planning, and execution of assigned projects.
  • Manages the execution of cross-functional teams to ensure aligned priorities, clear accountability, and successful delivery of project objectives.
  • Ensures the team effectively follows product and software development processes, including strict adherence to the Coplogic Development Playbook.
  • Builds and translates business strategies into actionable roadmaps, priorities, and measurable execution plans.
  • Drives process improvement initiatives with long-term value for the business and/or customer.
  • Leads a culture of innovation, encouraging questioning of the status quo and viable solutions to challenges.
  • Drives operational efficiency and effectiveness by simplifying processes, improving resource utilization, and establishing repeatable practices.
  • Manages and encourages new ideas from staff to foster improvements through innovations.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of Professional Services/Consulting/Leadership experience, particularly in mid to large-scale application development projects.
  • Strong knowledge of the end-to-end application development lifecycle.
  • Significant change management experience is a must, including assessing organizational impact, building stakeholder alignment, communicating change, managing resistance, and sustaining adoption.
  • Proven experience and understanding of Agile and Scrum development methodologies utilizing Azure DevOps.
  • Experience in a leadership role with profit-and-loss responsibility.
  • Demonstrated understanding of complex corporate environments, including governance, cross-functional decision-making, competing priorities, organizational dynamics, and effective engagement with senior leaders.
  • Skilled in breaking down large complex issues into simpler elements.
  • Highly skilled at communicating vision and big picture business scope.
  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Project Management, Management of Information Systems, Finance, Organizational Leadership) or equivalent.
  • Master's Degree is a plus.
