About the Role
Provides technical support and service in the Discovery R&D group under the supervision of chemists and engineers. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on R&D projects that contribute to novel chemical synthesis, experimental property measurements, and application-level performance testing.
Responsibilities
- Support novel technology discovery and research by performing experimental work.
- Synthesize novel chemicals for a variety of applications.
- Perform experimental measurements of key thermophysical and electrical properties for novel or known chemicals.
- Conduct performance testing of novel or known chemicals at the application level.
- Set up and maintain chemical synthesis equipment, electronic systems, thermal systems, chemical loops, and instrumental analysis equipment.
- Operate validated experiments and support lab experiments by making scientific observations.
- Maintain experimental records, perform calculations, and analyze data.
- Accurately report data.
- Safely conduct a variety of experimental tasks independently under the direction of scientists.
- Perform troubleshooting on various lab equipment and instrumentation.
