About the Role

As a Business Manager, you will drive and coordinate daily operations and long-term growth for Engelhart’s financial and physical commodities businesses in Europe, including European gas and power, renewables, dry bulk freight, and financial commodities trading. This role requires leading cross-functional initiatives and addressing complex business challenges, offering exposure to all staff levels and an attractive compensation package.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a key interface between trading desks and support functions, ensuring alignment and efficient delivery of initiatives.
  • Ensure robustness and continuous improvement of processes, controls, and governance frameworks.
  • Apply deep understanding of systems and processes to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements.
  • Own and drive coordination of business controls and approvals, ensuring timely and effective outcomes.
  • Drive business planning, performance monitoring, and cost analysis, providing actionable insights to senior management.
  • Lead resolution of complex operational challenges across desks, geographies and functions.

Requirements

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • At least 7-10 years of relevant experience within commodities or energy trading.
  • At least 5 years of experience in business management.
  • Solid experience of European power and gas, and preferably renewables.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with front office and support functions, with exposure to senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable experience in communicating clearly and effectively (written and verbally), particularly with PowerPoint.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Copilot.
  • Fluent English language skills are mandatory.
